Aveniu Brands becomes the exclusive agent for Prichards Distillery
On March 12, 2014, in the heart of Nashville, Tennessee, Gruppo Codorniu, alongside Aveniu Brands and the passionate owners of Prichards Distillery, joyfully announced the exclusive representation of the company’s beloved brands. Situated in Kelso, Tennessee, Prichards Distillery, founded by the visionary Phil Prichard in 1997, stands as a beacon of Tennessee's distilling heritage, marking the first legal distillery to grace the state in almost half a century.

Andrew Mansinne, President of Aveniu Brands, commented about the new relationship “It is an honor to represent such a true icon of craft distilling. Phil created the first legal distillery in Tennessee since prohibition in 1997, before “craft” became a household word. I’ve enjoyed his products on a personal level for many years and now I have the chance to partake in his commercial success”.

Five generations ago in 1822, Benjamin Prichard of Davidson County, Tennessee passed his “still, tubs and utensils thereto” to his son Enoch. Benjamin’s will provides documentation of the last known “legal” distiller in the Prichard Family. Benjamin Prichard made his Tennessee whiskey with a high sugar content white corn, pure Tennessee spring water and it was distilled using ancient pot still techniques. Using some of the highest quality ingredients and the same techniques, Phil was able to craft some of the finest tasting rums and Tennessee whiskeys produced in America.  The production of Prichard’s Fine Rum may truly represent the restoration of a lost art form.

Terry Marshall, formerly Vice President of Sales at Prichards, has been appointed to the role of Chief Operating Officer. In this new position, he will oversee all daily operations at the distillery in Kelso, Tennessee, as well as the new distillery located at the Fontanel Mansion in Nashville, Tennessee.

We are excited to announce that full integration will be happening over the next few months.
