The growth in our European expansion coincides with the rising popularity of Scotch and Irish Whiskey. In 2017, the export value of Scotch Whisky saw a 9% increase to £4.36 Billion. Additionally, Scotch exports grew by 1.6% in volume, reaching a staggering 1.23 Billion Bottles. The Irish Whiskey Association (IWA) has set ambitious sales targets, aiming to double sales from 72 million bottles in 2016 to 144 million bottles by 2020, and ultimately to 288 million bottles by 2030. Irish whiskey sales have been steadily progressing towards meeting these goals, with an estimated 120 million bottles sold in 2017.
