Suntory Holdings Ltd., the privately-owned Japanese whiskey and beer manufacturer, has reached an agreement to acquire Beam Inc. (BEAM) for $16 billion, which includes debt. This acquisition will allow Suntory to add renowned brands like Maker’s Mark whiskey to its portfolio, establishing the company as the world’s third-largest premium spirits company.
